WE ARE EXHIBITING AT ARDE, SOMERSET HOUSE, 8-12 JUNE

ALEKSA studio is collaborating with Architectural Designer Wang Fung Chan on an intricate installation 'Lighting Vessels' to be installed in Somerset House. The proposal envisages a cluster of individual components - hanging lighting vessels made of lasercut ply. Digitally simulated pattern will disperse the light creating an illusion of dissolving solidity and optical illusion. The formal language of the proposal is inspired by the existing dome and arch typologies in Somerset house.

'ArDe is a new annual international fair that for the first time, unites the disciplines of: Architecture, Landscape, Design, Public art, Property development and Technology. ArDe is asking the big questions about how the city can change and adapt to new paradigms, swelling populations, climate change and global markets.'

We are proposing new access to the garden via large French doors, new treatment to patio and rear garden and full flat interior refurbishment to include bespoke built-in furniture, upholstered wall pieces, new modern kitchen and bathroom. The introduction of new pocket doors allow for seamless transition between the rooms making the flat feel more spacious and light. Construction is due to begin this month.
